Does calling animal control to remove, say, a family of skunks, cost money?

We had a skunk in our yard and Animal control said that to get rid of it the only thing we could do was pick up a trap from them, alert them once they were trapped and they would take the skunk and kill it. The reason is that the only other option is to take out its scent gland and re-realease them , but that it is animal cruelty to do so because it leaves them defenseless. The nasty part is that after they kill it YOU are responsible for getting rid of the body. GROSS. They didnt say anything about a fee though. alot of times they wont remove them..throw some moth balls down hopefully that will run them out
