my uncle had one as a pet when I was growing up. he had it descented and fed it catfood. After a few months, all the hair on her tail fell out, and after a trip to the vet, found out that it needed more fruit in her diet. She was pretty cool to have around, but when she got scared, she would still try and spray which would cause her to poop. She still had a strong odor to her, and it was hard to wash off. She died after only two years.

I don't have one, but I know someone who did have one and they LOVED it. They had the scent glands removed of course. They are apparently very trainable.

a lady down the road its glands was removed but it still had a weird smell to it
