Can skunk spray cause swelling?

My dog ran of last night and showed back up this morning smelling strongly of skunk. She isnt real bright because this is like the 12th time she has been sprayed, and I would be willing to bet that if one ran by right now she would chase it and get sprayed again. Anyway I washed her as normal, but then noticed that her snout is swollen, can skunk spray cause this? It is all together possible she got herself into some other trouble and hurt her snout, but it doesnt seem tender to the touch. Can skunk spray cause swelling?
Wild Bill,

Give your dog a break!! will you? He is just mimicking what you do. No, but he must have gotten stuck on something. The spary alone shouldn't have cause it.Can skunk spray cause swelling?
If she was real close. Skunk spray is a irritant to the eyes, nose and mouth. Our dog was sprayed directly in the mouth. Besides trying to wipe it off he was vomiting. Call your vet for advise.
Watch her close, mine died from getting sprayed in the face. Anything unusual, get her to the vet.
