What is a good way to get rid of skunk cabbage?

I really want to get rid of it for good. I would like to find a plant that is really aggressive and also loves water. Then plant it next to the skunk cabbage so it can do its thing. What is a good way to get rid of skunk cabbage?
Hey William,

On 10 acres in the North East US, I kicked over many a skunk cabbage just to see if it smelled as bad as the others. Now, I am 35 years older, and a Master Gardener. My advice to you is to get to know your 'enemy', then you will know how to rid yourself of it. On the path to learning about the plant, so you can exploit a weakness, you might just find that you can live with it.

Iris are a great flowering plant, and grow in a varitey of methods - rhizomes, tubers - these flowering plants thrive in situations much like the Skunk Cabbage. Iris are difficult to grow from seed, so best to buy a hardy variety or two, and plant them in a pattern in the area of the Skunk Cabbage.

Iris can grow in water, or moist soil is the usual media. The rhizomes are unpredictable - they will grow underground, like a long root, and then pop up and produce a new plant. This will take a while. Check out which varity of Iris (or other local marsh plants) do well in your hardiness zone. The more you learn, the happier you will be with the result.
